The 'Rain' In My Life

Lately, as I've been watering my plants, I've been spending time with the Lord... Quietly. No music. No prayer request. No memory verses. Just Quiet. Not that the previous mentioned things aren't good... I was just convicted that I rarely come to him and just listen. Each day I water the fern that hangs in our holly tree, (one of my favorite places). Anyway, the other day the Lord gave me such a beautiful picture of His Presence 'during the rain' in my life. Without the rain falling on the tree (or water hose in this case) I would've never seen the beautiful rays of light. The sunshine shows so much more as the rain falls. These are pictures from the same, exact distance and angle... the only difference is the 'rain'.

Wow! Thank you so much for your beautiful post. Of course, none of us want our loved ones to be in pain or have "rainy" days, but I love how you wrote that without the rain we would never see the beautiful rays of light. You have such a wonderful outlook on life and your analogy is truly eloquent and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts that have always, without fail, encourage me. I am incredibly blessed to have you as my friend. Love you and can't wait to see you tomorrow night.

Wow, Great post. I loved how you showed us the diffence the rain adds. I always love it when the light comes through like that, it always reminds me of God being near.

Jess ~ I have to agree with Eric...that is one of the most breathtaking pictures I have seen. thank you so much for writing this post...it was a true encouragement to my soul, especially now that I have some very quiet, uneventful days ahead (thank the Lord!). It was great catching up with you tonight at care group. love you girl and don't forget to make that 'signal' for outside your house that will tell friends when it's a good time to drop by for some serious girl talk and chocolates!! hee hee.
