Doodle Days...

 SCENE ONE:

(this scene begins in the kitchen, about two minutes after David left for work... but more importantly, before my first cup of coffee.)

Doodle: "I want some juice!"

Me: "O.k. baby, how do you ask?"

Doodle: (clenching her fists and yelling at the top of her lungs) "PPLLEASSSEEE!"

I continue to get her a cup of juice, but refuse to give it to her until she can ask in a kind voice. She finally caves in and politely asks for the juice. I give her the juice and congratulate her for asking nicely. She takes one sip... forcefully hands it back to me... and yells again...

Doodle: "No this cup! I want Elliot's cup!"

Me: "Doodle, brother is using his cup and I don't want you to share germs."

Doodle: (runs across the kitchen, grabs Baby Brotha's cup and licks it.) "Now my germs are on it." she stares me down... " and he's yucky!"

Me: (while washing Elliot's cup off) "Doodle, you can pick any other cup in the whole drawer... but you may not have Elliot's."

Doodle: (after staring me down for an intense minute and a half) "NO CUP! (slams cup of juice to the floor)... I want a bottle! You not nice! I want daddy! I'm going away!" ( juice trickles across the floor ).

Pan to Baby Brotha' , sitting quietly in his high chair taking it all in... He looks at me with a huge grin and starts clapping... naturally he thinks this is all part of a show. After all, who acts like that in real life?
                                                          .... AND SCENE.

(on a side note... this is the second time I've had to write this out. I completed this post about 30 seconds before Evangeline came in to say goodnight. Of, course she felt the need to 'hop her pretend frog' across the keyboard... erasing my entire post. Once she saw the horror on my face, she frowned her eyes at me and apologized in a deep, froggy voice. Then she patted my back and told me... "You o.k... you o.k. mommy? I know.. it's fine.")

.... so I guess the title should've been 'SCENE ONE: TAKE TWO'.
