Late Night Conversations...

I'm not sure what we started off discussing... but at some point, mid-sentence, my subconscious took over...

Me: "Well, can we at least agree on one thing?"

Davy: "Sure... what?"

Me: "You obviously need a therapist."

Davy: " Are you kidding me? You're joking, right?"

Me: (slightly offended that he's not taking me seriously)... "Why would I joke about that? You obviously need to come to terms with your childhood."

Davy: "There's nothing to come to terms with..."

Me: "Exactly."

Davy: (genuinely confused) "Exactly what?"

Me: "You're in such denial... that you don't even know what you need to come to terms with..."

Davy: "I have no idea what you're talking about. You're the one who needs a therapist. I could use a life coach."

Me: "I'm not the one who needs a therapist. I'm the most self-critical, analytical person I know. I come to terms with everything. I'm my own therapist... and I think I'm pretty good at it."

Davy: "Well, maybe I need a therapist so I can handle you."

Me: "Well, at least that's a start."

NOTE TO SELF: Overly tired parents of toddlers, with no time to communicate, should just throw in the towel some nights ... and watch t.v..

Oh my gosh that is so funny! I love the part where Dave says he doesn't need a therapist he could use a life coach. I laughed right out loud. And just in case you are wondering...it only stays the same from there...no time as parents of "tweens" to talk either! By the way, who thought of that term, tween, I hate it!
