Daily affirmation and a warning to future self...
Dear Jessica ,
Way to go! In celebration of anti procrastination day, you finally tackled something you’ve been wanting to do. DIY shampoo for your limp and lack luster hair. The outcome is still to be determined... so keep your celebratory high fives to a minimum.
However, here are a few tips for next time...
Please reconsider the blend of essential oils you will use in the future. Although rosemary and camomile are highly recommended for voluminous locks... this combo will inevitably make you feel like some sort of earthy, winter soup is simmering. Which turns out, is not a very pleasant aroma when there is, in fact, no soup.
The next thing you should seriously reconsider next time is the venue in which you choose to debut your latest creation. A brisk shower is always the appropriate scene for any ‘kitchen made’ hair products ... especially, but not limited to, recipes featuring coconut milk, almond or avocado oil and sea salt. Never a hot, steamy bath.
This is a lethal combination when one’s self confidence and body image are in a vulnerable place. Instead of feeling like a rejuvenated and pampered mother of four... you will immediately flash back to last thanksgiving. Trying to shove a raw, oversized turkey into and undersized pot of brine. It just won’t work. There will be sloshing water, beadlets of sweat... and a very real possibility of pulled abdominal muscles and damaged self esteem. As panic sets in you are bound to end up coated in oil and sea salt as you slip across the tiles to an embarrassing heap on the floor. This dramatic scene could only be enhanced by an ambient meditation soundtrack that is playing from your phone.
Anyway... great attempt. We can work on the refining process.
Oh, and happy Friday!
