Jessica’s Daily Affirmations

You are strong, capable and ready to handle any challenges this day may bring. Don’t let your mind wander down the path of comparisons. The ‘I’m nots’ and ‘they ares’ skew your unique perspective and gifts that only you can offer. Like you told your 1st grade daughter when she wanted to wear the same color knee socks as all the other girls in her class...

“Birdie, you don’t want to be like all the other girls, do you?! You want to be better!!!”
... I suppose a bit of my motherly bias and unassuming sense of self-confidence made its way into this rally for individuality. Oh well... we’ll work a dose of humility into the next conversation.

There are plenty of moms that work out every day... or choose to do their grocery shopping in a physical store... out in public... with their kids. Don’t judge them... they simply haven’t loved themselves enough to embrace online shopping and Walmart delivery. Give them grace... or a cookie.

Take deep breaths... Enjoy watching the confused birds in your backyard as they try to hone in on their natural instincts and figure out what season they’re in. Put your fuzzy socks on and try a double pirouette in the kitchen... and if you start to fall , just go limp to minimize injury.

... and if you happen upon a challenge that threatens to overwhelm your spirit... just remember the encouraging words of your mother ...

“ Jessica, if all the idiots out in the world can figure it out... SO CAN YOU!”
